Churches should partner up with Christian modeling organizations to promote positive body images and diversity within the body of Christ. That is the view of Angela ‘Stikks’ Adams, founder and chief executive officer (CEO) of the Christian Models Association, based in Sacramento, California.
The Christian Models Association exists to support women and children to “become successful models without compromising their morals and values,” according to Adams.
“By partnering with organizations such as Christian Models Association, churches can open their doors to Christian fashion shows and workshops that support inner beauty, character and modesty while promoting positive body image and diversity within the body of Christ,” she said in comments to Christian Daily International.
“We are all fearfully and wonderfully made, created in the image of our Father: His masterpiece.”
Adams spoke of the importance for Christian models in not compromising their power and authority within the modeling industry and standing up for biblical principles.
“We do not have to compromise. As Christians, we have to remember God has the final say, He will never keep any good thing from us, every good opportunity is not a God opportunity and ultimately Jesus is our agent.”
God is able to open any door for a Christian model “quicker, faster, and bigger than any earthly agent or director,” opined Adams. She added that models are unable to do their profession in their own strength.
“We are not depending on our beauty or perfection to become successful. God will open doors not because our skin is perfect, hair is perfect, weight, height or age is perfect, but because He is perfect.
“God moves according to our faith, not according to how perfect we think we are. There is no competition in the Kingdom. God has enough opportunities for all His children.”
Christian Models Association was founded by Adams, herself a model, speaker and author, in 2016. She had the vision of discipling more than 10,000 Christian women all over the world in growing spiritually and professionally.
The ministry serves thousands of models across the world including the U.S., U.K., Canada, France, Italy, South Africa and the Philippines.
Some 2,000 Christian models are supported via signature online programs, namely Model With Purpose and Model With Purpose KIDS.
“These are a step-by-step blueprint to using your gifts, talents and beauty for the glory of God within a supportive and safe Christian community,” commented Adams.
The organization opened its Christian modeling services for children aged six weeks old to 17 last year, 2023. A division for Christian men is opening in the near future.
Adams is the author of a 30-day devotional, ‘This Can Help Someone,’ which blends modeling with faith in Jesus to help readers overcome every day challenges. Her book has been endorsed by gospel recording artists James Fortune and Tye Tribbett.
