He has worked in journalism and copywriting for some 18 years, mostly for Christian media publications in the UK, the US and Australia. He is an English graduate from the University of St Andrews in Scotland where he was President of the St Andrews Literary Society. In his free time, he enjoys writing devotionals and runs his own blog (hislovefrees.life). Chris has traveled extensively, living briefly in South Africa and Belgium, and now resides in South Wales in the UK with his wife and children.

Amnesty International report highlights plight of children as Haiti continues to struggle with gang violence

Children in Haiti face sexual violence, other forms of abuse, and recruitment into local gangs, according to a report published by Amnesty International on Feb. 12. The report states that armed gangs have "escalated significantly" in Haiti since the assassination of President Jovenel Moïse in July 2021. It highlights that 5,600 people died in Haiti last year, and 5.5 million people need urgent humanitarian assistance. The capital, Port-au-Prince, is largely controlled by gangs, the report said.
