Chris Eyte serves as International Correspondent for CDI, covering Europe, the United States & Canada, the Caribbean and Oceania. He has worked in journalism and copywriting for some 17 years, mostly for Christian media publications in the UK, the US and Australia. He is an English graduate from the University of St Andrews in Scotland where he was President of the St Andrews Literary Society. In his free time, he enjoys writing devotionals and runs his own blog (hislovefrees.life). Chris has traveled extensively, living briefly in South Africa and Belgium, and now resides in South Wales in the UK with his wife and children.

Once known as the “city of churches” with 90 church buildings listed in the inner zone during the year 1893, the Canadian city of Toronto today has become known as a multicultural metropolis with diverse faiths and beliefs. While nowadays only just under half of the population identify as Christian, a new initiative highlighted the historical and contemporary importance of Christianity for the city leading the Toronto City Council to proclaim December as “Christian Heritage Month.”

A proposed law to give Australia’s media authority more powers and posing a danger of silencing critics of abortion and trans ideology, of great concern to rights group Australian Christian Lobby, has been withdrawn in a dramatic turnaround. Australian lawmakers initially approved the “Communications Legislation Amendment (Combatting Misinformation and Disinformation) Bill 2024” in the House of Representatives by 78 votes to 57 on November 7, as reported by Christian Daily International.
