  Berlin First Baptist Church in Maryland held first Vacation Bible School for children with disabilities

  Berlin First Baptist Church (BFBC) in Berlin, Maryland held its first Vacation Bible School (VBS) for children with disabilities Jun 17-20, 2024. The program ran in the morning while a traditional, neurotypical VBS was hosted in the evenings of those same days. Children's Director Shannon Diehl has a heart for children with developmental disabilities and had been thinking about doing a VBS for children with disabilities for many years. Yet she did not know if she could bring this idea to life.

  Religious bodies, churches and Christian leaders in Kenya have responded to a call by protesting Gen Zs to disassociate the pulpit from politicians and to be the voice of the voiceless. Different Christian bodies admitted that the Church in Kenya has had an unhealthy relationship with politicians and affirmed the right of young people to peacefully demonstrate against bad governance and injustice.

  The recent Southern Baptist Convention held in Indianapolis, IN adopted a resolution addressing the dignity of the human embryo and the ethical implications of widely used reproductive technologies such as in vitro fertilization (IVF). The resolution, directed primarily at pastors, ministry leaders, and couples, urges careful deliberation before engaging in reproductive technologies, a topic that has long been debated within the Southern Baptist community and the broader pro-life movement.

  100 years ago, spectators at the Paris Olympics 1924 witnessed a breathtaking sight as Scottish runner Eric Liddell powered down the 400 meters race track and broke both Olympic and world records, leaving the other runners way behind. The centenary of that event in 2024 sees the Olympics return again to Paris this summer, alongside the Paralympics.
