Excitement builds in Belgium in anticipation of evangelist Franklin Graham’s visit to share the gospel

More than 535 churches throughout Belgium have partnered with the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association (BGEA) to hold an evangelism event in the capital city of Brussels on Sept. 27. Veteran evangelist Franklin Graham, son of the late Billy Graham, and both president and chief executive officer of the BGEA, is scheduled to appear at the “Festival of Hope” at ING Arena.

Opinion

  • Spiritual formation must precede social action

If Christians simply act out of a felt need to “do something,” their resulting actions could be unhelpful or even counterproductive, like Simon Peter’s pointless, rash aggression in removing the ear of a servant. Wes Granberg-Michaelson's Soulwork of Justice provides much wisdom for Christian social activists. Lent is a perfect time to contemplate it.

  • Why the United Nations needs saving

Last week, UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres announced that the UN could run out of money by July. The main reason is that the United States has virtually ended its contributions. Why should Christians care at this time of global crisis and the dissipation of alliances unlike anything the free world has experienced since the formation of the UN? Because the issues are not merely political they're theological.
