The Ibero-American Confederation of Communicators, Pastors, and Christian Leaders (COICOM) has officially announced that its 2025 continental congress will take place in San Pedro Sula, Honduras, from Sept. 8 to 10 at the Expocentro Convention Center.

COICOM 2025 will mark the third time Honduras has hosted the event. According to organizers, preparations are well underway, with high expectations following the success of COICOM 2024 in Ecuador, which brought together approximately 2,000 participants from across the continent.

“The third time that COICOM is being held in our country is a blessing for us because it is a truly massive movement for all Christian media. It represents an opportunity for us to receive training and to learn all the information and details about how we are growing in terms of Christian communication. Honduras is fortunate to have many Christian media outlets, including radio, television, and digital media,” said Ana Belinda Colindres, a member of COICOM’s board of directors and host of the congress in Honduras, in an interview with Diario Cristiano, Christian Daily International’s Spanish edition.

COICOM’s executive president, Arnold Enns, highlighted the significance of the event. “We are looking forward to once again bringing together the continent’s brightest minds and practitioners to mobilize the whole church to take the whole gospel to all nations,” he said.

Colindres emphasized the congress’s value for those dedicated to Christian communication. “It is an opportunity for all of us who love to communicate effectively the best message that transforms lives, using all the tools in social and digital communication, bearing the seal of excellence in our ministries, organizations, and media,” she said.

COICOM 2025 will feature a revamped program focused on the growing role of artificial intelligence (AI) and the challenges it presents for the media, organizations, and the Church in evangelization.

According to Colindres, Christian media must learn to harness AI to reach diverse audiences effectively. “Being able to learn more about how to use AI is important because we have to utilize all media and platforms to spread the message of the gospel,” she said.

She added, “If we professionalize ourselves in all areas, we will not only be at the forefront, but we will also reach people in a better way by bringing them the message of salvation.”

Colindres also warned of the consequences of failing to adapt to technological changes. “If we don’t learn about these technologies, we are going to lose our audience” in terms of using every tool available to “deliver the message we have to share as Christian media,” she said.

As experts in communication, Christian media professionals “must be prepared,” Colindres said, adding that COICOM 2025 will provide an opportunity to update knowledge and strengthen connections among media colleagues in Honduras and beyond.

With this vision, COICOM 2025 aims to be a key event for advancing Christian communication in the region. Hundreds of communication leaders and professionals are expected to participate, exchanging knowledge, experiences, and innovations to further evangelization across the continent.
