As a part of its efforts to raise awareness on the plight of persecuted believers and its desire to work in partnership with other like-minded ministries, Christian Daily International (CDI) has joined the Religious Liberty Partnership as an associate member. The application had been accepted ahead of the RLP’s annual meeting in Toronto, Canada and officially announced on the final day of the consultation on April 11, 2024.

“We are grateful for the warm welcome received from the RLP community, given our shared commitment to promoting freedom of religion or belief (FoRB) for everyone everywhere,” said Gordon Showell-Rogers, International Director of CDI.

“We believe that as an independent global news media, we have a unique role to play, both in reporting detailed and verified reports of persecution incidents, and in analysis and commentary on developments related to religious freedom around the world,” he added.

Tracing its roots and developmental process back to the Lausanne committee for World Evangelization (LCWE) gathering in Pattaya, Thailand in 2004, the RLP was officially launched in 2006 as a “collaborative effort of Christian organizations from every continent focused on religious liberty for all.”

Members of the RLP commit to following high standards in their work advancing religious freedom by following a set of principles set out in the RLP’s Best Practices document. These include a commitment to collaboration and partnership, to ‘doing no harm’, and to education and training, among others.

Apart from its membership in the RLP, CDI is also a member of the Evangelical Press Association and is committed to the EPA code of ethics as a minimum standard for its journalistic work.
