The Christian journey of singer and actress Selena Gomez is seen in her Instagram description, which is based on a Bible verse, and she has revealed that she is spending more time with her friends from church rather than those from Hollywood.
Selena Gomez's bio on her official Instagram account reads "By grace through faith," a phrase taken from Ephesians 2:8 which talks about the salvation that is obtained by grace and through faith in Jesus Christ. The singer also told Vogue in an interview that she does not go out that much and only goes on long drives with her girlfriends and churchmates.
"I think seventeen people have my phone number right now. Maybe two are famous," Gomez told Vogue.
Gomez is also reportedly establishing closer ties with some pastors and churches, including Pastor Judah Smith of City Church. Last year, the young artist also surprised her fans attending the Hillsong Church's Young & Free Revival Concert in Los Angeles by singing "Nobody," a worship song that she composed.
"Tonight is more than a concert, it's more than Hillsong, it's more than me coming on stage and singing a song for you," Gomez told the crowd at the concert. "It's about a relationship that is greater than anything, guaranteed."
"I got to perform my first worship song I ever wrote," Gomez later shared on Instagram. "So grateful for His grace and understanding."
Just recently, Gomez once again flaunted her Christian faith on Instagram by sharing the message of a sermon by Pastor Smith which revolves around Romans 7:15. The Bible verse reveals the Apostle Paul's struggle to do what is right even though it is difficult, Christian Today relays.
The Instagram post thrilled Gomez's fans, with one saying it is inspiring and another acknowledging how difficult it is to be a Christian in the Hollywood world. Yet another fan encouraged her to not worry about her sins and instead think about the forgiveness that Jesus Christ offers.
